that people in the target audience associate with a company, a product or service.”

Reasons for professional branding:

  • to establish your professional personality
  • create awareness; who we are
  •  trust;  credentials, experience.
  • reputation; through our actions and achievements
  • perception

Whatever you do you have to think about making a positive impact. Solid brand, strong identity, consistency.

“A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things well” Jeff Bezos
WHO do I do it FOR?
(WHERE do I do it?)
= YOU: The Brand
Define your brand. Brands are verbs. YOU are a Brand. People know you by verbs… if
that verb is a noun then you better start doing something about it.

How do you differentiate yourself?

How do you want to be portrayed professionally?

Portfolio, CV, Business cards, Social Media.Everything needs to be consistent; design, colour scheme, photo..image you are portraying etc.

Think about goal and target audience. Unique identity.

Be genuine. Leadership not just presence. Form relationships through social media.

WHAT you  do matters
HOW you do it is important
WHY  you do it is critical
“Personal branding is about authentically communicating your unique value as a journalist among your professional-category peers and backing up that brand with quality work to build credibility and trust among your audience and colleagues.” Jennifer Gaie Hellum on
